Although the "Karaván Família" is mostly known as a Gipsy folk band, its musicians participate in an increasing number of projects which draw on a much wider musical palette. Pop or rock music has not for long been unfamiliar to the group; they managed to absorb a variety of genres into their musical approach in the way that their style is not compromised in the meantime.
As for pop-rock, they united with the best of the local music world and presented a veritable super-production which achieved great success at several times.
Among its guest performers, there are Veronika Harcsa, Bori Péterfy, Kowalsky, Krisztián Szűcs of Heaven Street Seven, KRSA of Pannonia All-Stars Ska Orchestra, Balázs Tanka of "Turbo", Szabi Papp, the band leader of "Supernem", Zoltán Czutor, and the front men of Subscribe, Bálint Csongor and Máté Tilk. The diverse character and style of the guest musicians would vary the concert as such, but also the repertoire contains the musicians' own songs which are moreover shaped "karavánic". The songs are supplemented with Gipsy themes, and the original lyrics are filled with lines in Lovari Romani language.
This illustrious company originally intended a one-off musical experiment some years ago; however, the special outcome soon became cult by means of the urban word of mouth and the Internet, and the audience was prompted to demand a sequel. A much greater hit is expected in the "Fesztivál Színház" (Festival Theatre): the members of this huge group perform - apart from their own compositions - a selection of the most famous hits of the past forty years' Hungarian popular music.
